Performance weight of the BMW M5 Touring.

The lightweight concept has inspired every element of the M5 Touring’s construction, and the result is a total power-to-weight ratio of just 3.8 kg/hp. It’s not just the weight that’s typical of sports cars: the M5 Touring’s greater agility, higher on-bend speeds and excellent handling also come straight from the racetrack. Other weight-cutting features include the all-aluminium chassis, low-weight front section and V10 engine itself: the latter’s structure is exceptionally compact and light. In short, BMW knows that low weight makes for high speed.
